Leeds Carnival ~ Just like Mardi Gra....

Had a fabulous time out at Leeds Carnival yesterday. It is just like a big street parade with floats and everyone dressed in beautiful costumes it was like being at Mardi Gra in the Carribean. Everywhere that you walked you could smell all the lovely foods cooking with an international flavour, you could also smell lots of pot. I was shocked to see that people were just sitting around and smoking it like a cigarette and the police were walking about and they just allow it to happen.

I will be uploading some photo's this Friday from my cousins place when I have a chance to upload them to the computer.

I am finding it really hard not having the internet at my fingertips and not being able to chat with my friends online on a daily basis. We have finally managed to find internet access at the local library where we can use the internet for free and it is only about a 10 minute walk from where we are staying.

We have been doing lots of walking as it is hard to get around in the car because there is so much traffic. It is far worse than it is in Australia and they drive very fast doing about 150klm on the motorways. I am so surprised that there aren't more accidents.

I have seen lots of old buildings but no castles as yet, hopefully when we go to Scotland we will see a few then.

Next week we are off to Derbyshire which is such a pretty place, we will be doing some family tree research there and then we are off to London on the weekend to see Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and a Stage Show.

Well I better go then as I have been on this computer for ages.

Big night out....

I have a hangover today as I had a big night out on the town last night. We went into Wakefield on a pub crawl as such, I couldn't tell you where I went but I can tell you that it was mad. I have never seen so many people and they were all very intoxicated and having a very good time. But I have a bit of a headache this morning.

I have been spending heaps of money and doing lots of shopping. All I seem to be doing is walking everywhere as you really don't want to drive here as there is so much traffic.

I will be going to London next week and then to a place called Derbyshire where I will be doing some research for my Family Tree.

So I will catch up again soon.

Well I've been here 4 days now...

Hi everyone, Just popped in quickly to let everyone know that I am having a fantastic time. I have been travelling around and seen heaps of countryside. Yesterday we spent the day in York which is very old and the building are amazing. I went to York Minster and was overwhelmed by the size and the age of things. I was fantastic. It's been a very hectic day today...

It has been such a busy day today trying to get all those last minute things done before I fly out tomorrow and no one is being very helpful at all. I am so looking forward to getting on that plane and only having myself to think about. Ah if only that were true.....

Pink Ribbon Event 27th October

This year we are holding our Annual Pink Ribbon Event on the 27th October at Camira, Brisbane. If you live in the Brisbane area you are more than welcome to come as we have heaps of fun with raffles. This years we have some fantastic prizes that have been donated.

My Slide Show

Thursday already....

Omg it's Thursday already and I haven't even packed yet. Still so many things left to do and I keep on having hiccups along the way. Probably will be still packing on Saturday morning or late Friday night, I don't think I am prepared for this trip at all. Not really sure that it is going to make a difference though as I find you usually still forget things when you are prepared. So wish me luck everyone with getting things ready on time.

I swear some men just don't think....

Just a bit of a rant today.

Here I am going off to England in just 4 days time, so I plan to spend the day ironing all of my things that I want to take away and I go to get my iron out and it's gone. Well I ring up my husband to say I have misplaced the iron and has he seen it and he tells me "yes I have taken it to work". So I hit the roof of all days to take my iron, so he tells me "just go and buy another one" like I have the time to do that and what is he doing taking my $200.00 iron to an industrial site to iron heaven knows what. Omg men, they just don't think.

Omg it's only 5 days away

I can't believe that I am leaving this Saturday on my trip, the time has flown really and now I am getting a bit excited. I will shopping in Singapore on Sunday so hopefully I will pick up some nice things and then we arrive in England on Monday morning, well that is Monday morning there time. I hope the weather is nice there. Anyway, while I'm away I am hoping to update my blog a couple of times a week with any luck.
